Which is a "rain calling bird": Sparrow or Swallow?

Black clouds have gathered and it's about to rain as the birds seem to dance in unity in a zig zag fashion as if to usher in the rains.....but all of a sudden one of the birds falls flat on its back with a thud in front of a young man.

Startled he looks at the bird, it's huge eyes staring at him as it lies flat on its back, it's blackish wings as if in surrender.  The man is puzzled because such birds are said not to fall anyhow so goes one tale.

Trying to figure out what this namzeze is in's a bird which flies really low as if dancing and said to celebrate the rain.  Is it the swallow in the photo below taken from

Tracing footsteps to lead me home

Greetings from the Warm Heart Africa, Malawi.

I'm a Malawian journalist who grew up in many countries including South Africa, Belgium, then West Germany, UK, Washington DC and New York in the US and I love New York.

Trying to come up with the production of my life and by compiling some of my 1000 poems into a book called ‘Tracing Footsteps’ to lead me Home with excellent photography.

I also plan to film award winning documentaries based on the history of this ancient land called Malawi and the mysteries of Sapitwa and the Sirius star. this space.
